Hervey Bay to Noosa Heads

on

Going to Noosa Heads from Hervey Bay we again decided to go on Bruce Highway. It is the fastest route. In many places there are so called “tourist routes” deviating from the main road. These are more scenic but make for longer travel times. As we did not want to stretch the patience of our kids too far we stayed on Bruce Highway all the way. This meant that the drive from Hervey Bay to Noosa Heads took us 2,5 hours in total.

But this does not mean that there is nothing to see. The route still leads you through towns and farmland along the way.

With our love for fresh fruit one of the places we stopped at was a stall selling their own pineapples.

As we had never seen how pineapples grow we walked a few meters to take a look at the plantation and bought this beauty together with some of the juiciest mandarins I’ve ever eaten.

Noosa turned out to be a nice but somewhat posh town with beautiful houses along the many bays. Housing prices in this area are incredible high and the place reminded me a bit of Marbella.

Our apartment was located in a complex that was part holiday apartments part permanent residence.

For two nights we enjoyed the pools, fitness room and whirlpool as well as a fully equipped apartment. As our swimming gear was wet and salty and our favorite clothes could do with freshing up too I decided to run a few washing machines. This complementary amnity would send us off to Germany again with almost no dirty laundry which is a first on any holiday so far.
