When we woke up on Monday morning we could not believe our eyes: New York was white! It had snowed over night and all the sidewalks were covered with slush.

Our kids had come down with a soar throat and decided not to leave the hotel. If it hadn’t been for breakfast downstairs they probably would not even have made it out of bed.

The best husband and I decided to not let bad weather ruin our plans so we took off to hop on the Roosevelt Island Tramway. Once again this idea was inspired by an episode on “White Collar” where Neil Caffrey jumped from one carriage to the other in order to avoid getting caught by the FBI.

The elevated view from the cabin was quite interesting.

Arriving on Roosevelt Island we would have like to take a walk around. But even though we had packed layers of clothing that kept us warm we had not taken any boots with us. Walking in sneakers would have left us with wet feet. So we turned around earlier then planned.
