Olympia and walking along the Pacific Ocean

on

A city that really surprised us was Olympia, capitol of Washington State.

We walked around Heritage Park from where you have a good view of the capitol building, had lunch at a Mexican food truck and then continued to the harbor.

All along the way we were greeted by very friendly people, something I had never experienced in the States.

Unfortunately we had to leave Olympia way to early for my taste. What initially had been the most debated stop (hubby did not want to make the detour) was absolutely worth the visit and we easily could have stayed longer in what looks like a very livable city.

But we had booked our stay for the night close to Moclips at the Pacific Ocean. The hotel turned out to be a very dated accommodation in desperate need for renovation.

So instead of relax in the hotel for a bit we went directly to the beach for a long walk.

Jet lag hit my husband badly today so he went to bed early while I am writing these lines hoping to catch the sunset before I go to sleep as well.
