Coral Beach is a popular holiday spot on the West coast of Australia. It is located right in front of the Ningaloo Reef. Coral Bay is a special place in that the reef is just right at the water’s edge, making it easy to go snorkeling.

We came here for a boating trip along the reef and for swimming with whale sharks. Unfortunately we were out of luck. Coral Bay was hit by strong winds and the boats could not leave the harbor. This meant we were stuck in a spot with not much to do as the weather was not really inviting for snorkeling either.

Luckily we had done a bit on the day we had arrived seeing lots of fish.

Well, not much we could do about our cancelled boat trip.
Without the boat tour Coral Bay is not worth the visit unless you are into huge RV parks. We rather would have stayed in Monkey Mia for an extra day and then go to Exmouth directly.
