Started our hike to manning Gorge at 6.45h that morning which means a 5:30 wake-up. But given it will be getting over 35 degrees celcius quickly and it was a longer walk in the open, we needed to be hitting the “walk” early. The tour is about 7.5km return and fairly flat in most parts, but there is some steep climbing at the end getting down to the gorge and waterfall.

It is the largest gorge and waterfall we have seen so far and once again so unique. You really can’t compare the gorges with each other though as each one is so different.
Hubby had to jump of multiple rocks again and I took my chances as well. We did swim through the waterfall and enjoyed the view from behind it.

The return walk was tough as it was really hot so when we got to the River Manning near our camp, we jumped in quickly.

Fun fact, you need to swim through the river and shoes and luggage go into a little bin to swim across (keep fingers crossed that nothing falls out).

After a delicious lunch, the afternoon was free time and we simple spend it chatting to fellow travelers and in the water. As it gets dark early (5pm) and you need to get sorted before the sunset, time goes by fast. Dinner was prepared over the campfire and very special. Bedtime started by 8pm as we’d once again had to get up early for a long travel day to El Questro Station.
